About Carlyle Swafford

Carlyle Swafford serves as Director of Operations for The Talbot Greenya Group and Covenant Real Estate Management, bringing more than 30 years of hands-on experience across residential and commercial real estate, multifamily housing, leasing, property management, maintenance, capital improvement projects, and real estate investment strategy.

Carlyle began his career as a maintenance technician and progressed through nearly every facet of multifamily operations, from frontline maintenance and property management to senior executive leadership, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. In his role with TGG and CREM, Carlyle helps oversee daily operations, strengthen systems and processes, support team performance, and ensure clients and property owners receive knowledgeable, responsive, and consistent service.

Carlyle has held leadership roles in several professional organizations, including serving as a Director for the Institute of Real Estate Management in Maryland and as both Director and President of the Property Management Association of Northern Virginia.

His broad background allows him to evaluate the full picture of a property, looking beyond asking price or bedroom count to consider condition, ongoing maintenance needs, rental potential, operational requirements, and long-term value.

Buyers benefit from Carlyle’s technical knowledge and market insight when evaluating properties and forecasting future maintenance expenses and income potential. Sellers receive strategic guidance on pricing, repairs, preparation, staging, and market positioning. Investors and rental property owners rely on his expertise in leasing, property operations, capital projects, portfolio performance, and the practical responsibilities of property ownership.

Carlyle is a veteran of both the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. He has also served in local government as a member of Strasburg Town Council and as Vice Mayor. His commitment to community service includes volunteering as a firefighter and serving as President of Strasburg Fire Department Company 51.

An active youth sports volunteer, Carlyle has coached Little League and Midget Football and served as a Little League umpire.
